In 1996, refined a process for assessing the quality of an
organisation's democracy. In conjunction with the Open
University, trilaled the audit at a number of enterprises - most
notably, the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales.

The Democracy Audit process led to a branching out into
Internal Comms Audits using many of the same basic techniques.
This a more straightforward technique for assessing the flow of
an organisation's internal information both upwards and downwards.
Another offshoot of the Democracy Audit process, MCM is a further
refinement which concentrates exclusively on the effectiveness and
efficiency of an organisation's meetings - both internal and external.
